What?     Where?
Who?     How?

  1. What do volunteers do?
During the full week of service, volunteers may: Help prepare a hot lunch, working in the kitchen. Help make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, package sweets,or package milk for delivery bags. Help load bags for delivery and take-outs. If you are unable to safely perform a task, please let the person in charge know immediately.
  2. What do volunteers need to wear?
Wear comfortable clothes. Wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip flops) We provide hairnets, but volunteers may choose to bring a ball cap. Dress modestly --no tank tops or short-shorts, please.
  3. What about groups?
Groups of 8 or less may be scheduled during the full week of service only. Please email the Soup Kitchen ccsoupkitchen345@gmail a month in advance to schedule a group. Groups must have a contact person. Adult supervision is necessary for groups with children under 17 years of age.
  4. May I bring my children?
Please contact the Soup Kitchen prior to bringing a child under 12. There are very few tasks appropriate for children under 12. Children under 16 need to have a parent or other responsible adult accompany them.
  5. What about donating food items?
Donations of canned goods are always welcome. Food donations may be brought to the Soup Kitchen any day that we are open (see calendar above). Fresh produce is especially welcome! Please check the dates on the items you donate. Canned goods store more safely than boxed items, but no donation is turned away!
  6. What about monetary donations?
Of course the Soup Kitchen can always use monetary donations. We have utility bills and grocery bills to pay just as you do. Monetary gifts should be sent to PO Box 2457, Carrollton, GA 30112 -- or brought to the Soup Kitchen.
